Hynes & McCormack was established by the late A.A.R Hynes in 1910 at the School of Arts building in Murwillumbah. It moved to its current premises in 1919 where it has continued to be a family-run sole practice. We are a small firm, but this allows us to provide you legal services without charging you overinflated prices.

Think of Hynes & McCormack like the GPs of law. They have a very good overarching background in most areas, however, in more complex cases where your case falls out of our skillset, we're happy to recommend you to someone. Over the years, we've developed an excellent rapport with a diverse range of fellow practitioners and should your case fall outside of our skillset, we're happy to recommend you to someone who specialises in your area to ensure you get the best results.

As a sole practitioner, Peter McCormack is hands-on with each client to make sure he has in-depth knowledge and provides you with the right legal advice.

Peter is a certified member of Property Exchange Australia (PEXA) and electronic conveyancing accredited (ECA). He is also an active member of the Cabarita/Pottsville Beach Lions Club and was also the recipient of a Melvin Jones Fellowship award, given in recognition of his outstanding humanitarian work.

For your convenience, there are 2 offices. The main office is open Monday to Friday from 9:00am-5:00pm (closed between 1:00pm–2:00pm and located in one of Murwillumbah's heritage buildings on the first floor).

We also have a satellite office in Cabarita Beach operating on Tuesdays and Thursday from 2:00pm–5:00pm or by appointment.
